Join the Center for Population Health and Aging in celebrating the 10th Annual National Falls Prevention Awareness Day! This year's theme will be "10 Years Standing Together to Prevent Falls!" Recognizing the importance of fall prevention awareness in our communities, Texas Governor Gregg Abbot issued an official proclamation to declare September 22, 2017 Fall Prevention Awareness Day.

The CPHA is hosting a free and fun community event on Thursday, September 14th to raise awareness about how to prevent fall-related injuries among older adults in the Brazos Valley!

There will be a variety of exhibitor booths providing information on community resources. There will also be health screenings available, including hearing screenings, Fall risk assessments, postural assessments, blood pressure, and HomeMeds Medication Management! Please see information below regarding medication related screenings and disposal resources. The Expert Panel will have multiple healthcare experts that will address concerns regarding the prevention of falls, there will be time for a Q&A. There will also be a “fall-ty” shoe exchange- so bring old flip flops, slippers, or other shoes that are a fall hazard in exchange for a chance at a door prize!
