Information for Attendees

Texercise is a 10 week physical activity and nutrition program offered to older Texans and their families. This program will help participants learn about and implement fitness and nutrition techniques without the need for fancy gear, health clubs, or payments - just a fun, practical guide to looking and feeling great. The following tools are provided free of charge to help encourage participant success:

  • Safety Tips and Fact Sheets
  • Completion T-Shirt

By the end of the program, participants will be effective in:

  • Problem Solving
  • Planning healthy and delicious meals
  • Exercising safely at an increased fitness level
  • Exploring community exercise opportunities
  • Tracking fitness and eating patterns

Program Components

Multi-component intervention which utilizes the following activities:

  • Physical exercises (30-45 minutes): endurance, strength, balance, and flexibility
  • Brainstorming and problem-solving
  • Goal-setting and action planning Physical and Nutritional logs
